He has written for such outlets as the Associated Press, the Detroit News and The Hockey News and authored three books about the Detroit Red Wings and their players. Paul covered the Red Wings as they won four Stanley Cups in the 1990's and 2000's. He also chronicled Justin Verlander's first no-hitter in 2007, 34 years after watching Nolan Ryan no-hit the Detroit Tigers at Tiger Stadium in 1973.
