The worst of Tobias Harris brought out the best of Kendrick Perkins.
ESPN analyst Perkins went viral on Friday for his hilarious comments roasting Philadelphia 76ers forward Harris. In a win-or-go-home Game 6 against the New York Knicks on Thursday, Harris went scoreless on 0-for-2 shooting despite playing 29 minutes.
“Tobias Harris, let him walk,” said Perkins on “First Take.” “I mean, damn. He asked them if they wanted something from Chick-fil-A before the game, the team told him yes and he came back with a bag full of napkins and straws. I mean he was just a no-show out there.”
The Chick-fil-A line from Perkins was incredible and also very appropriate in the wake of Harris’ goose egg. Philly only lost the game 118-115, too, so the performance by Harris (who averaged 17.2 points a game during the regular season) was especially damaging.
As for Perkins, his most savage comments are usually reserved for his former team, the Boston Celtics. But that right there was a Hall of Fame roast of the soon-to-be free agent.
