Watch: Brewers rookie goes yard again to make impressive MLB history

Milwaukee Brewers rookie right fielder Jackson Chourio hit his fourth home run of the young season on Saturday, taking St. Louis Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas deep in the fourth inning.

According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, Chourio is the fourth-youngest player since 1900 to hit at least four home runs over their first 17 career games. The only players to accomplish the feat at a younger age were Lou Klimchock in 1958 (19 years, 345 days), Andruw Jones in 1996 (19 years, 138 days) and Tony Conigliaro in 1964 (19 years, 120 days).

Chourio, who turned 20 years old on March 11, is the youngest player in MLB this season. Signed as an international free agent by the Brewers in 2021, the Venezuelan native shot up the minor league ranks, rising from rookie ball to Triple-A in only three seasons.

Over 17 games in the major leagues, Chourio has had understandable ups and downs. However, his flashes of brilliance have the Brewers playing the patient approach with the rookie.

Chourio began the year by recording at least one base hit in 11 of his first 13 games (14-of-54). Entering Saturday's action, he was slashing .215/.257/.369 with three home runs and 11 RBI across 70 plate appearances. His homer against the Cardinals broke a three-game slump that saw him go 0-for-11 at the plate with five strikeouts.
