Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Tobias Myers made his Major League debut on Tuesday night and he found out very quickly that pitching in the big league is very different from the minor leagues.

He not only gave up a lead-off home run to Pittsburgh Pirates designated hitter Andrew McCutchen in the bottom of the first inning, he did so on the very first pitch he threw in the majors.

The 25-year-old Myers was a sixth-round pick by the Baltimore Orioles in 2016 and has taken a long, slow path to the majors. He appeared in 140 minor league games over the past eight years, compiling a 4.25 ERA in those appearances.

He has a 1.62 ERA in four appearances with Triple-A Nashville this season.

Wade Miley was supposed to start Tuesday's game for the Brewers but was placed on the injured list on Monday.

The Brewers also lost pitcher Jakob Junis on Monday when he was struck by a line drive during batting practice.

The injuries resulted in Myers getting Tuesday's start.
