Kyle Kuzma seemingly trolls Lakers following Game 3 loss

Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma evidently does not believe in the "don't kick someone when they're down" rule.

Soon after the Lakers went down 3-0 to the Nuggets on Thursday, Kuzma took a jab at his former team's front office for trading him in 2021.

While Kuzma didn't mention the Lakers in his tweet, it was obvious to whom his message was directed. Many Lakers fans responded to Kuzma and brought up his poor performance in the 2021 NBA playoffs, citing it as the reason the Rob Pelinka-led front office shipped him out of town.

During the six postseason games against the Suns that year, Kuzma averaged 6.3 points while shooting 29 percent from the field and 17 percent from the three-point line.

A year before, Kuzma played a key role in the Lakers winning the 2020 NBA Finals in the Orlando bubble. However, his performance dipped quickly the following season, leading to his trade.

Kuzma seems to have unresolved issues with the Lakers. In 2022, he took a shot at the franchise when reports surfaced of the team trying to acquire him back via trade.

Kuzma pointed to the irony of the Lakers trading him for Russell Westbrook, a player who didn't pan out with the team.

"I think it just shows you the grass is not always greener," Kuzma told Fox Sports. "It's definitely a good thing because at the end of the day, that means I've been playing well, and I have value in this league, that a team would want to trade for me. It's a blessing."

The Lakers are just one loss away from being eliminated from the 2024 NBA playoffs. They've lost 11 games in a row to the Nuggets dating back to last year's Western Conference Finals.
