Less than three weeks after he was officially announced as the new men's basketball coach at the University of Arkansas, John Calipari is busy building his first roster as head hog.
With the addition of forward Jonas Aidoo on Monday, Calipari's first team in Fayetteville is finally taking shape, and the star-studded talent that lines the roster is making Arkansas fans drool with excitement for the upcoming season.

The 6’11” big man averaged 11.4 points and 7.3 rebounds with 1.8 blocks per game for the Volunteers last season.

Jonas Aidoo's decision to transfer is just the latest of several big moves by some of the best players in the country following Calipari's shocking move to Arkansas.

Zvonimir Ivisic was the first domino to fall less than a week after Calipari's signing, and commitments from the likes of Karter Knox, Boogie Fland, and Billy Richmond only strengthen a roster that will no doubt have aspirations of returning to the NCAA Tournament.
At his introductory press conference, Calipari joked that, "I talked with the team... there is no team," referencing the mass exodus of Arkansas players with the departure of former head coach Eric Musselman. Calipari has filled the void of those departing players and then some, using his talent as a recruiter to bring in some of the biggest names in the sport.
The abundance of NIL money now flooding into Fayetteville combined with Calipari's knack for recruiting will continue to make this offseason, and those in the future, an exciting time for Arkansas fans. While Eric Musselman did an excellent job of finding special players in the portal, he wasn't quite given the monetary resources that Calipari has, nor did he have the reputation of being one of the best recruiters in the game.
Time will ultimately decide the fate of Calipari's tenure in Fayetteville, including his first Razorback team, but so far, Hog fans are liking what they're seeing out of Coach Cal.
