NHL bets: Two prop straights from Boston, Winnipeg for 4/30

We split our hockey looks yesterday, ending a four-day clean streak and dropping us to 9-1 in our past five days. Now that we lost a bet and can compare it to the days where we didn't lose a bet, one thing is clear: winning is way better.

Let's get back to doing that tonight.

Jake DeBrusk point (+100 DraftKings)

Boston hosts Toronto tonight with a chance to win the series, and I expect them to do it, or at the very least find 3+ goals for the fourth time in five games.

Heading into this first round matchup, there was a key power-play edge for the Bruins, something that has consistently shown itself to be the case. Boston has scored a power play goal in all four games, including three PP goals in their first two games at home.

In a game Toronto is going to be desperate, that should lend itself to a few penalties, and that's all we need for the Bruins to take advantage.

When I consider who is likely to get in on the fun in such a scenario, Jake DeBrusk quickly comes up. Four of DeBrusk's five points this series have come on the power play, including three at home. That is where I expect us to cash this prop, but I prefer spreading the net to a point in any form, just in case.

DeBrusk now has a point in seven of his past eight against Toronto, piling up 11 total, with seven of them on the power play.

By all means, bet DeBrusk PPP at +360. I'll opt for a more conservative look, especially when you consider he shares a line with David Pastrnak during even-strength play.

Nikolaj Ehlers over 2.5 SOG (-120 FanDuel)

There's nothing I love more than following a desperate team on the brink of elimination skating on home ice. Winnipeg has been getting torched by Colorado this series with goaltender Connor Hellebuyck simply imploding, and while I think the Avs are going to take it tonight, I also believe the Jets will be chucking everything they can at net.

Winnipeg shifted some lines around a bit in Game 4, and it seemed to spark a jolt in shooting from Nikolaj Ehlers. It was a wildly inefficient outing, but Ehlers tallied 12 attempts in all, landing three on target. Based on the numbers, the Jets dominated shot attempts whenever Ehlers was on the ice, whether that was with Adam Lowry and Mason Appleton or on a line with Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele.

All I care about is those attempts, and if Ehlers even sniffs that output, he should be able to clear this line once again. Ehlers topped Winnipeg in even-strength shots in their two home games this series, finishing with three and four SOG.

The Winnipeg wing has now logged 3+ shots in eight of his last 10 at home, averaging 3.4 SOG on 6.4 attempts/game. Against Colorado, Ehlers has averaged 4.2 SOG per game in Winnipeg over the past six meetings, covering this number five times.
