Dodgers accomplish impressive feat for first time since 2006

The Los Angeles Dodgers' bats couldn't miss during their 8-4 win against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night.

Monday's win was the first time that Los Angeles went an entire game without striking out since Aug. 28, 2006, when it defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 6-5. That Dodgers lineup included the likes of Jeff Kent, Kenny Lofton and Nomar Garciaparra.

It was also only the third-ever game in which Diamondbacks pitchers didn't record a punchout.

Los Angeles also became the first MLB team this season not to strike out.

The last time the Dodgers went a game without striking out, the league-wide strikeout rate was 16.8 percent that year (2006).

According to a report by Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, all nine Dodgers starters reached base during Monday's win. Their seven, eight and nine hitters (Enrique Hernandez, Andy Pages and Miguel Rojas) were particularly productive, going 4-for-10 with three doubles, three RBI and three walks.

"A lot of competitive at-bats," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said, per an ESPN report. "Eighteen years — we've seen a lot of baseball games since that's happened. I just think you've got to give the players all the credit for winning pitches and fighting to move the ball forward."
