Lindgren brothers still not on speaking terms after Ryan's Rangers swept Charlie's Capitals

The Lindgren brothers said that once the Eastern Conference first-round playoff series between Ryan's New York Rangers and Charlie's Washington Capitals was over, they would start communicating again.

But that hasn't been the case.

The brothers, who normally either talk or text regularly, agreed not to do either with each other during the series.

However, it ended on Sunday night with the Rangers sweeping the Capitals in four games. But there still hasn't been any talking or texting.

"We're in that awkward phase right now where I don't think I'm ready to reach out, and he probably doesn't know where I'm at," Charlie — Washington's goalie — said, via Sammi Silber of The Hockey News

The pair had a quick exchange during the handshake after the series ended, in which Charlie said: "I love you, bro. Good luck."

But he cherishes playing against his younger brother. Charlie is 30 and Ryan, a defenseman, is 26.

"Just getting the chance to play in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against him was a treasure," Charlie said. "Wish it had gone better, but it was something that we'll remember forever and just appreciative to get that chance."

He added that it's too soon for him to cheer for his brother in New York's second-round series against the Carolina Hurricanes. But he will definitely support Ryan if the Rangers make it to the conference final.
