Will the Dallas Stars finally win on home ice for the first time this postseason or lose another tight matchup?
In Game 5 of their Western Conference first-round series against the Vegas Golden Knights, the Stars responded quickly after they went down 1-0 early in the first period. At the 5:02 mark, Dallas right winger Evgenii Dadonov tapped in a goal, tying the game at 1-1.

Then, at the 8:04 mark, Stars center Matt Duchene took advantage of a power play and gave Dallas a 2-1 lead. However, Vegas would bounce back, with left winger William Carrier tying it up at the 12:31 mark.

After the Stars lost Games 1 and 2 in Dallas, they turned the tables on the Golden Knights, winning back-to-back games in Vegas. Dallas head coach Pete DeBoer isn't surprised and anticipated a close series.
"I think everyone knew that these games would be like this," DeBoer told The Athletic's Jesse Granger on Monday. "You look at the four games — I don't think we've played a poor game yet. I thought the first two games in Dallas, they were opportunistic in some different situations. I loved Game 3. Tonight for Game 4, you know you're going to see their best, and I thought we were good tonight considering the situation. So I'm excited about our group getting home."
It's easy to argue that winning Game 5 is more important for Dallas. The Stars want to avoid another playoff loss to the Golden Knights, who eliminated them in the Western Conference Final last season.
