Stars finally win at home, take series lead over Golden Knights

Finally, a home team won a game in this series.

The Dallas Stars went up 3-2 on the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference first-round playoff series, thanks to the Stars' 3-2 victory in Game 5 on Wednesday night at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The visitors won the first four games in the series.

Game 6 is Friday in Las Vegas at T-Mobile Arena.

When a Stanley Cup playoff series are tied, the Game 5 winner takes the series 79% of the time.

Jason Robertson's power-play goal was the game winner, breaking a 2-2 tie with 3:28 left in the second period.

One of Stars goalie Jake Oettinger's 25 saves was stopping Chandler Stephenson on a breakaway with around 2:40 left.

Evgenii Dadonov and Matt Duchene also scored and Wyatt Johnston had two assists for Dallas.

Mark Stone and William Carrier supplied the offense for Vegas and Aidan Hill made 22 saves. Hill replaced Logan Thompson, who started the first four games of the series.
