Golden Knights force Game 7 behind shutout by Adin Hill

It's not a surprise that the series between the Dallas Stars and the Vegas Golden Knights is going to a Game 7.

The Golden Knights ensured that with a 2-0 win on Friday night in Game 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Vegas. Game 7 is Sunday at American Airlines Center in Dallas at 7:30 p.m. EST.

It is not a surprise that everything will come down to one game because the Stars' 113 points led the Western Conference and earned them the No. 1 seed in the conference and the Golden Knights, despite being the second wild-card team, are the defending Stanley Cup champions.

Adin Hill made 23 saves for his third career shutout.

Defenseman Noah Hanifin scored with 10:06 left to break a scoreless tie. He took the puck from the right point down into the right circle and put a wrist shot past Jake Oettinger.

Captain Mark Stone added an empty-net goal with 19 seconds left.

The game featured plenty of scoring chances for each team throughout the contest.

Stone knocked the puck out of the crease as it was trickling toward the goal line after a shot had squeezed through the pads of goaltender Hill with a little less than five minutes left in the second and the score 0-0.

Oettinger stopped 28 shots for Dallas.
