Lionel Messi has proven to be quite the wise investment for Inter Miami FC, and he proved it again on Saturday night with a record-setting performance.
Messi set an MLS record with five assists and six-goal contributions (one goal, five assists) in the club's 6-2 win over New York Red Bulls.

The craziest thing about that single-game assist record is that all five assists (and his goal) came in the second half of the game. He did all of that in just 45 minutes.
He is already up to 10 goals and now 11 assists on the season and is the first Miami player to ever have at least 10 goals and 10 assists in the same season.
Here is a look at his fifth assist of the night on Saturday.

Messi's two-and-a-half-year deal with Miami a year ago is one of the most unique deals in North American sports history, including agreements with Apple, MLS and Adidas. It reportedly pays him over $60M per season.
