Minor League Report: Will Robertson hit his sixth home, Sam Shaw hit his first home run, and more!

Recently-signed Beau Sulser had a rough first outing for the Bisons, finishing with a line of 3.1 IP, 9 H, 5 ER, 0 BB, 2 K. In relief was Luis Quiñones, who struck out two and allowed a hit in an inning and two thirds pitched. Fitz Stadler gave up an earned run and three walks in his inning of work.

Nick Fraze pitched a clean inning to bring his season ERA 3.60, while Mason Fluharty gave up two earned runs and struck out a batter in his inning of work.

Dunedin were blown out 15-7

Also on Sunday, the Blue Jays gave up four earned runs in the top of the first inning, and were never able to recover, falling 15-7 to the Tampa Tarpons. The loss brings their record to 12-15.

Gage Stanifer made his second start in Single-A, giving up six earned runs in 2.2 innings pitched, with three walks and four strikeouts. Carson Pierce didn’t fare much better, giving up two earned runs in 2.1 innings of work. Jordan Powell gave up three earned runs in an inning of work, while Aaron Munson gave up three earned runs while striking out three in two thirds of an inning pitched. You read that right.

Towards the end of the game, the bullpen settled down, as J.J. Sanchez gave up an earned run, three walks, and struck out a batter in an inning and a third. Sebastian Espino was the only D-Jays pitcher with a clean outing, striking out two in an inning of work.

In terms of the bats, Arjun Nimmala and Victor Arias both had doubles, the only extra-base hits that were hit by the D-Jays. Moreover, Nimmala walked three times. Tucker Toman had two singles and was the only Blue Jay with a multi-hit game, while Crisitan Feliz also had a single.

FCL Blue Jays lost their first game of the season.

On Monday, the Florida Complex League Blue Jays fell 3-2 to the FCL Phillies, bringing their record to 1-1.

Sam Shaw hit his first professional home run, while Kendry Chirinos hit the only double of the game for the FCL Jays. In fact, Chirinos was the only player with a multi-hit game, as he also had two singles. Enmanuel Bonilla has reached base in 52 of 54 professional games, as he had a single (and three strikeouts). The other players with a hit were Luis Meza and Jonathan Peguero.

Juanmi Vasquez made the start for the team, posting a line of 4 IP, 2 H, 0 ER (1 R), 1 BB, 5 K. Tagged with the loss was Carlos Meza, who gave up two earned runs and six hits in two innings. Luis Torres pitched the remaining two innings, giving up a hit and a walk, but striking out two batters.
