We’ve got the Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Game 3 results according to NBA 2K24 to see who the game predicts as this matchup’s winner. The Timberwolves are currently dominating this series with a strong 2-0 lead. After losing by over 25 points in Game 2, Denver will hope to rebound on the road for Game 3. Our Game 1 simulation accurately predicted the Timberwolves would win. Does it have what it takes to accurately predict the rest of the series?
According to our NBA 2K24 Simulation, the Minnesota Timberwolves will defeat the Denver Nuggets In Game 3 by a score of 114-107. Minnesota inches closer to another series sweep, as the defending champs fail to win away from home. Despite a close matchup that remained close until the final 41 seconds, Minnesota outplayed Denver in almost every phase of the game.
TEAM | Quarter 1 | Quarter 2 | Quarter 3 | Quarter 4 | FINAL |
DEN | 27 | 25 | 25 | 30 | 107 |
MIN | 31 | 23 | 28 | 32 | 114 |
Overall, the match was a very close one until about 41 seconds remained in the fourth quarter. Mike Conley’s 3 Point Shot put the team up 109-104, leading to Denver constantly fouling for a chance to turn things around. Conley then went on to add four free throw conversions, scoring 7 crucial points in the final minute. The Nuggets were unable to make a play and get back into the contest.
Despite leading in categories like time of possession and points off turnovers, the fact of the matter was that the Nuggets simply couldn’t take over. They played well, but not well enough to begin a comeback in the series. Minnesota didn’t play lights out either, though one of their stars had a phenomenal day.
In terms of player performances, Anthony Edwards easily wins the game ball here. His 50 points, along with 4 rebounds and assists definitely made him the MVP of the game. The young SG is making waves this postseason, and could potentially lead Minnesota to the Conference Finals. Let’s also not forget Mike Conley, who’s late game scoring put the game away from the Nuggets’ grasp. He ended the day with 25 points and six assists, though he turned over the ball 4 times.
As for the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic played disappointingly. The 2023 Finals MVP only earned 17 points and went 8 for 18 on field goal attempts. Additionally, he turned over the ball twice and only played 35 minutes in the game. Instead, Jamal Murray led the team in several categories like points (32), assists (9), steals (3), and three point shots converted (5). Only Michael Porter Jr. was able to score 20+ points in the game, which lead to an okay offensive performance.
Additionally, check out some game stats:

With the win, the Timberwolves extend their lead in the series to 3-0. At this point, it looks less like a matter of if, but rather when the Timberwolves will advance. Anthony Edwards has been unstoppable, and it looks like he’ll have a chance to knock out the defending champions. However, they still need to win one more game against one of the best teams in the league. They remain home for Game 4.
As for the Nuggets, things look incredibly bleak now. A year ago this time, it seemed like the Nuggets were invincible. Now, it seems like even their best players are struggling to play well. While it isn’t over yet, Denver will need to play lights-out basketball for four games straight, hoping nobody gets injured in the process. We’ll see what they can do in the next contest. They remain in Minnesota once more for Game 4.
In terms of accuracy, we feel our simulation series is slowly improving to reflect team stats and final scores much better. We adjusted CPU sliders to prevent insanely high scoring games, considering we run 12-minute quarters. However, we are unfortunately unable to update the rosters due to an issue that crashes the game if we use custom ones. Therefore, we just use the official 2K sports roster.
