Predators’ Alex Carrier reveals Roman Josi’s stunning claim about big goal vs Canucks

Watching the goal, it was obviously said in a joking manner by Josi. It was a seeing-eye goal for sure, but as Carrier said, it does not matter as long as the puck went in. The Predators took a 2-1 lead in the moment and went on to win by that score over the Canucks. Josi tied the game as well on a goal that happened as a result of a pile-up in the crease.

“Yeah, I mean I’m sure they took a look at it, but yeah it was a breakout, we, I feel like our breakouts weren’t great the first, I don’t know how many we had, three,” Roman Josi said, via Daugherty. “And I had a lot of speed, kicked out Fil (Filip Forsberg), Fil made a great play. He got it right back to me, and I felt like I had a little bit of an opening. Tried to go around the goalie and just somewhat laid there and I don’t know what happened after, but I kind of laid there and saw it go in. So that’s all that matters.”

There was some question about whether or not the goal by Josi should have counted. It was ruled a good goal, and it tied the game. The Predators forced a Game 6 in the series back home on Friday, and will try to force a Game 7 with a win.

Predators’ outlook ahead of Game 6

Heading into Game 6, the Predators are undoubtedly kicking themselves looking back on the blown lead in Game 4, as Nashville had a two goal lead before giving up two goals with Vancouver’s goalie pulled. The Canucks went on to win in overtime. That would have set up Game 6 to be a closeout game for the Predators at home. Instead, it is a must-win game to force a Game 7 on the road.

The Predators will look to take advantage of facing an inexperienced goaltender in Arturs Silovs, who is the third goalie on the depth chart for Vancouver. It will be interesting to see how Game 6 plays out in this series.
