The Jacksonville Jaguars are banking on Trevor Lawrence to fulfill the lofty expectations surrounding him when he entered the league.

While Lawrence has displayed flashes of brilliance, his youth suggests there’s considerable untapped potential waiting to be unleashed.

The organization remains optimistic about Lawrence’s trajectory and is committed to his long-term success.

According to a report by Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk, Jaguars’ General Manager Trent Baalke has confirmed the team’s decision to exercise the fifth-year options on the contracts of both Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne.

For 2025, Etienne’s option comes in at $6.1 million, while Lawrence’s stands at $25.7 million.

As the top pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, Lawrence arrived with immense hype, drawing comparisons to legends like Peyton Manning.

His rookie season was marred by disappointment, largely attributed to Urban Meyer’s tumultuous tenure, both on and off the field. However, under Doug Pederson’s guidance, Lawrence showed promising signs of improvement.

Yet, in his third season, Trevor Lawrence encountered setbacks, grappling with injuries and bouts of inconsistency.
