Vikings GM gives optimistic take on Justin Jefferson's future

Despite entering the final year of his contract, General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah appears confident in securing an extension, expressing optimism about the negotiations.

Despite battling a hamstring injury last season, Jefferson showcased his talent, surpassing the 1,000-yard mark in just 10 games. His average of 107.4 receiving yards per game ranked second in the league, trailing only Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins.

The departure of quarterback Kirk Cousins, coupled with his Achilles injury, posed a significant setback for the Vikings last season. However, the arrival of rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy offers a glimmer of hope for the team’s resurgence.

Regarded as one of the most intriguing prospects in this year’s draft, McCarthy’s potential to make an immediate impact fuels optimism within the organization.

In addition to Jefferson, the Vikings boast a formidable offensive arsenal, including emerging talent Jordan Addison and star tight end T.J. Hockenson. They also signed former Green Bay Packers star running back Aaron Jones in free agency.
