The Chicago Bears already seem set at wide receiver after swinging a trade for Keenan Allen and then drafting Rome Odunze. They already had DJ Moore, so now, they boast a pretty impressive trio.

Could the Bears add another weapon for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams?

Bleacher Report’s Joe Tansey thinks so, suggesting that Chicago pursue former Las Vegas Raiders wideout Hunter Renfrow.

Renfrow was released by the Raiders in March after his second straight unproductive campaign. He played every game this past season but logged just 25 catches for 255 yards. That came after Renfrow caught 36 passes for 330 yards and a pair of touchdowns in 2022.

But Renfrow wasn’t always a nonfactor for the Raiders.

The 28-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Clemson, was selected by the Raiders in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

He enjoyed a strong rookie campaign, snaring 49 receptions for 605 yards and four scores. Then, after posting similar numbers in 2020, Renfrow broke out in 2021, hauling in 103 receptions for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns en route to a Pro Bowl appearance.

The Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, native appeared to be on the verge of stamping his name among the most prolific receivers in football, but injuries severely limited him in 2022. He then fell out of Las Vegas’ rotation almost entirely this past season.

Tansey feels that Renfrow could represent a solid option over the middle for the Bears and notes that he brings an entirely different skillset to the table from Moore, Allen and Odunze.

Perhaps Renfrow could compete with Velus Jones for the fourth receiver role in Chicago.
