The Jacksonville Jaguars have made some moves this offseason that would suggest they are ready to make it back to the playoffs, just like they did two years ago. Last season was a disappointment, and they want to avoid what happened there.
There are some expectations going into this season. A lot of people think this team could potentially win the division.
But, before any of that, we have to see how their schedule will be, who they will play, the hardest and best games, and the best individual matchups and storylines entering 2024.
During the 2024 NFL draft, the NFL teased that the schedule release would happen in May, but they neglected to reveal an exact date. Given what we've seen the last couple of years, it should come out around the middle of May. It was released on May 12, 2022, and May 11, 2023.
Once that comes out, we will update this with the Jaguars' exact schedule.
Jaguars vs. Texans: This matchup is likely going to be between two teams who have the best chance at winning the AFC South.
Jaguars @ Raiders: Viva Las Vegas! The Jaguars will likely have another home game away from their home, as every away team who plays there has more fans in the stadium than the Raiders.
Jaguars @ Dolphins: It's the battle of Florida. We usually look forward to this game when it's against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but this time the team from northeast Florida is traveling to South Florida.
The Jacksonville Jaguars had three primetime games last season, which is the most they have had in some time. They almost always have the Thursday Night Football game with a team in the AFC South, but last season they had a Monday Night Football game and a Sunday Night Football game.
That is when things started going south. The Jaguars had the No. 1 seed in the NFL at the time, and then they went way downhill, way too fast. They got the three primetime games last season because of what they did the year before, and everyone expecting them to be even better going forward. Obviously, they were worse.
Now, with the additions they have made, I can see them getting better, and I expect they will have four primetime games. But, we shall see.
Last season, the Jaguars started the season playing the Indianapolis Colts, and of course, they finished the season against the Tennessee Titans. I think it could be different this season. We may see the Texans as the team to start the season against the Jaguars since these two teams are highly anticipated as being great in 2024.
In the Week 18 game, we could see the Indianapolis Colts since they are a team the Jaguars played first last year, and they are the other team that could be in a fight for the division title game.
Anton Harrison vs. Maxx Crosby: Last year, he was a rookie; this year, he will face the most feared defensive end in the league.
Calvin Ridley vs. Jaguars defense: He said that he felt the Jaguars didn't respect him enough. So, let's see if he goes off for a revenge game.
Jaguars offense vs. Texans defense: The Jags lost several defenders to the Texans in Denico Autry and Foley Futukasi.
