'I don’t need to win again,' Ian Poulter SLAMS critics following poor performances on LIV Golf

This past weekend, as Brooks Koepka took home his fourth LIV Golf title, Poulter once again found himself in the bottom half of the leaderboard. The veteran Englishmen finished 35th and has only one top-10 finish this season.

Things look even more bleak for his team. Majesticks GC comprising of Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood , Henrik Stenson and Sam Horsfield are currently ranked second to bottom in the team standings. Apart from this, they have finished last in Singapore and Adelaide events.

All of this has once again led to many criticizing them. Taking to his Instagram account on Monday, Poulter went on a furious rant and urged the critics to “seak help“. He also confidently expressed that he will win once again.

I don't need to win again... However I will, and those who don't think or believe or feed negativity on here need to look in the mirror as they are probably hiding behind some issues. So please go seak help or consult in good friend. Having belief and drive and the will to succeed keeps us all working harder. Be happy, spread some happiness in some way. I promise it will help. Ian Poulter said.

Recently, Poulter was spotted at the Augusta National. While many thought he might regret moving to the Saudi-backed league, the English golfer refuted that. Despite missing The Masters tournament, Poulter claimed he “had no regrets at all“.

Ian Poulter claims to be proud of his team despite poor results

It is no surprise that the Majesticks GC are struggling for form. One of their co-captains, Lee Westwood is having a rough time on the course. He is one of only three players in the league who are yet to bank a point in the 2024 standings. Despite this poor results, Poulter is proud of the team.

In his Instagram stories, the 48-year-old golfer admitted that the performance of the team has not been good enough. He though claimed that what happens on the course is not always the “full picture” and spoke on how the team’s Little Sticks program helps children get exposed to golf.

Whilst team @majesticksgc performance on the course isn’t very good at the moment, which some of you keep telling me, it’s not always what’s being done on the course that’s the full picture. I’m extremely proud of our franchise and our #littlesticks program within our team. Building a curriculum for schools to help those who have never picked up a club or would ever be exposed to golf and those children with various disabilities is fantastic to see. Ian Poulter continued.

Will Poulter and his teammates be able to turn around their season and salvage a respectable finish remains to be seen. They are currently on a four-week break and will tee off next at LIV Golf Houston in June after failing to qualify for the PGA Championship next week.
