Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

In the Western Conference semifinal NBA playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves , the Denver Nuggets are down 0–2. The Timberwolves dominated Game 2 from the start, building a double-digit advantage that gave them early control. Notably, Michael Malone, the coach of the Denver Nuggets seemed visibly disappointed by the performances of his players.

On the other hand, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been shocking the whole NBA community with their performances against the Nuggets. Though Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards each scored 27 points, Minnesota’s oppressive defense stood out as it stopped Denver from making any definitive attacking plays.

Malone did not hold back when asked what went wrong against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the post-match press conference.

The body language of our guys...you know it was not where I think it needs to be but yeah we just got beat up in our building! we got embarrassed in front of our fans. Michael Malone boldly claimed

The Denver Nuggets have been extremely poorly against the Minnesota Timberwolves as of now. In addition, Jamal Murray was also caught throwing a heat-pack onto the court due to frustration. The current results will surely pile more pressure on Malone as he will have to get his players up and running for the upcoming crucial game 3 on May 11th, 2024.

It remains to be seen now how the Denver Nuggets respond after two hapless defeats against the Timberwolves on home court. For the Nuggets to turn this series around, all their players will have to be at their flying best in the upcoming matches from here on.

Anthony Edwards gets “MVP” shouts in Denver against the Nuggets

Star player Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets has won the MVP trophy two times in his career. However, it was guard Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves who received the MVP shouts at Ball Arena in Denver on May 6. In their home court, Edwards and the Timberwolves humiliated the Nuggets 106-80 to take a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference second-round series.

Edwards was without a doubt the most outstanding player on the court on May 6. He shot 11/17 from the field to end with 27 points and 7 assists. The 22-year-old performed so impressive that the sparsely attended Timberwolves fans made sure to yell MVP at their top player.

Anthony Edwards has outclassed the likes of Nikola Jockic and Jamal Murray in the NBA playoffs up till now. The NBA community is in awe of Edwards’ performances against the Nuggets and the MVP shouts he received in the 4th quarter are a great example of the talent and hard work he possesses. It will be intriguing to see how he performs next in the upcoming matches against the Nuggets.
