Skip Bayless is always consistent when it comes to criticizing LeBron James throughout his career. The latest of his takes is when he called out the Los Angeles Lakers star for getting Darvin Ham fired after two seasons coaching the team.
Ham first entered the scene in 2022 after Los Angeles’ front office terminated Frank Vogel that same year. This development comes after the latter coached James and the Lakers to a championship in 2020.
In Ham’s first season as head coach, the former Milwaukee Bucks’ star and one-time NBA champion finished the regular season with 43 wins and 39 losses . Even though they went through the Play-In Tournament, last year’s iteration of the Purple and Gold went far in the playoffs by facing the Denver Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals. However, they exited the postseason after the Nikola Jokic-led team eliminated them on their way to win the Finals.
This season, the Lakers went through the Play-In Tournament again, only to face the Denver Nuggets in the first round. After five games, they exited the postseason with Ham’s loss of trust amongst the players as one of the reasons for their underwhelming performance. Now, Ham has been let go and the team will have to search for a replacement before James makes a decision on his player option this year.
After news of Ham’s termination spread, various personalities gave their take on the issue. Among those who voiced their opinions is perennial LeBron James critic, Skip Bayless, which can be seen in a video posted by Undisputed on X:

Even though Bayless has been consistent with his criticisms of James, the latter’s record of playing for so many coaches and seeing them fired after has been pointed out by Stephen A. Smith. In any case, Ham remains a viable candidate for any team in need of a coach for next season.
Whether Bayless’ take on James’ part in the firing of Ham is true or not won’t be known anytime soon. Nevertheless, expect the King to play with a new coach when the upcoming season starts later this year.
