At this point in time, the Nuggets and Timberwolves are heavy-favorites to reach the NBA Finals from the Western Conference. Karl’s claim that Wembanyama can dislodge those two teams in the future is one massive endorsement for the San Antonio star.

With a couple of months more before the regular season returns, Wembanyama has an opportunity to come back better. If he does, expect most teams in the league to take notice of this season’s Rookie of the Year winner.
