It looked like Michael Malone might get ejected when he exploded at referee Marc Davis. He didn't even get a technical foul.

Malone was extremely heated after Minnesota's Karl-Anthony Towns slammed into Denver's Jamal Murray twice on one offensive possession, without drawing a whistle. Then, Anthony Edwards got much softer contact from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on a drive and ended up still drawing a foul. And Malone went off.
It was honestly refreshing. In a playoffs full of long, extended replay reviews about what constitutes "marginal contact" or flagrant fouls, Davis simply screamed right back at Malone. No whistles, no reviews, just two people yelling at each other and then walking away.
There simply weren't many fouls either way in the first quarter of Game 2. Each team only got whistled for two fouls, and the Timberwolves shot two free throws to the Nuggets' zero. No one shot a technical free throw.
After a quarter, Minnesota led 28-20 and Malone's blood pressure was slowly returning to normal.
