LIV Golf's Talor Gooch gave at least a tiny preview of the 2024 PGA Championship field, saying Monday that his name will be on the list.
Gooch revealed the news on X (formerly Twitter) one day before the official field is set to be announced Tuesday for the May 16-19 major at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky.
"Looking forward to Valhalla next week!" Gooch said in a post that included a praying-hands emoji. "Thank you for the invitation @PGA. See y'all there."
While LIV Golf competitors are not allowed in PGA Tour events, the PGA Championship is a separate entity run by the PGA of America.
The PGA Championship has been open to offering invitations to players from all around the world, regardless of their status on the PGA Tour or in the official world rankings. Gooch earned the $18 million bonus last year that goes to the winner of the LIV Golf points race.
LIV Golf's Joaquin Niemann of Chile had previously been invited to Valhalla.
Niemann was one of 13 LIV Golf participants who participated in last month's Masters Tournament, the first major on the 2024 schedule. He was joined in the field by Bryson DeChambeau, Cam Smith, Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, Patrick Reed, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Charl Schwartzel, Dustin Johnson, Bubba Watson, Tyrrell Hatton and Adrian Meronk.
More LIV Golf participants are expected to be included when the PGA Championship field is announced.
