The Houston Astros are off to a horrid start in 2024, currently sporting the fourth-worst record in all of MLB. But there is some light at the end of the tunnel, as they will soon get a big boost to their rotation. Three-time Cy Young winner Justin Verlander has been dealing with a shoulder injury, but following a few rehab starts, manager Joe Espada confirmed that his ace will make his 2024 debut on Friday against the Washington Nationals. Houston has made the ALCS for a remarkable seven straight seasons but will have its work cut out to make it eight in a row. Verlander's return is a massive step in the right direction.
Which brings us to today's quiz of the day. Among active pitchers, Verlander ranks second in career strikeouts. So, with that in mind, how many of the active MLB pitchers with the most career strikeouts can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
